On the same day 20-year-old soul cat crosses rainbow bridge, family stunned to find doppelgänger patiently waiting for them to adopt him: 'Coincidence or not?'

It's no secret that the cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. 

Life certainly has a way of making us wonder if there's something out there. There are times where things feel too symbolic, too meaningful, or too scripted to be a part of normal everyday life. In this story, there's a coincidence that is undeniable. In the story here, a family has had their little Sophie since she was 4 years old. She's 20 now, and they've had to make the harsh decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge or not. On the same day no less, they spot a lookalike across the street. He starts meowing when he sees them carrying Sophie to be buried, and they can't help but wonder about his identical markings. It's no secret that the cat distribution system and fate work hand in hand, and now they get a Sophie 2.0, in a younger and male form. Of course there are those who don't believe in coincidences at all, and you might be onto something. There's unexplainable happenings in the cosmos that really make someone wonder about the universe and existence.

  • This story is unbelievably sweet. I can't recall the amount of times the universe was playing with me like it's playing with the family here. When one door closes, another truly does open. It's important that we keep positivity in the face of hardships. The world is riddled with all kinds of suffering, so it's not something that will ever end. The best thing we can do is just deal with it by at least keeping an optimistic and positive perspective. It's really a wonder how they found a cat who looks exactly like their Sophie. Of course, it's not easy to let go of her, but there's a silver lining to everything.

  • If you're anything like me, then you also don't believe in coincidences. There's just too much cosmic curiosity to think that nothing has any connection or means anything. It's too peculiar sometimes the way things ebb and flow, in a way that seems like it was absolutely made for us to learn from or understand.
